In Case of Emergency - Stockroom Kyneton
About the exhibition
This solo exhibition took place in 2018 at Stockroom Kyneton, where Emme referenced the illegal stockpiling of recyclable glass and plastics in Victoria. In case of Emergency presented a series of sculptural installations in reaction to Australia’s recycling crisis at the time.
Elements of the show included: fragments of safety glass from a broken bus shelter neatly contained in a glass vitrine, suspended precariously from brackets and chains. Drone footage reveals the vast scale of illegal stockpile sites housed by various recycling plants throughout Victoria. A mechanical arm repeatedly batters an emergency hammer against safety glass.
